Pre-enrolment form News9/2/09 INFORMATION FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE Tallaght Citywest Educate Together NS will most likely not be opening this year as the current position of the Department of Education and Science is that they will not be recognising a new school in Tallaght in 2009.
We encourage the parents to continue to work to make representations to their local political representatives to change this decision. Furthermore, the Department of Education and Science intends to recognise new schools in the general Tallaght area in 2010 and 2011.
The patronage of any proposed new schools has not been decided and representations should also advocate Educate Together as the patron of a new school in the area to meet parents' right to decide on the type of education their children receive.
We would recommend that if your child is due to start school in September 2009 that you make alternative arrangements if you have not already done so for their primary education for the year ahead. We are still very much dedicated to the cause of opening an Educate Together School in Dublin 24 and will continue to work towards this goal.
A very successful fundraising event took place in Croagh's pub in Springfield. We would like to thank all those who supported this event and who generously donated prizes.
